| 機動戦士ガンダム00 第17話「スローネ強襲」 More Lena(Nena?):
ep.17 スローネ強襲... your usual gundam fanfare. No comments.
Safari, six months later (3.0.4)
How long has it been since the first public beta release? Apparently nobody cares... not a single news article on the subject . I was checking out the cinema display on apple.com and came across safari once again. After reading the "new feature" list for the 3.0.4 release, I decided to give apple's safari another try.
The fonts looks better like they stated. I have yet to check out the spell check features they added. But I find the Ctrl-F function more practical than the one in IE and FF(I didn't try that on the previous versions). For what I have experienced it proves itself a contender in the so-called "browser war". Perhaps it's time for me to try firefox 3 now.
and speaking of firefox...
狼と香辛料
captured from the opening credit of the new series 狼と香辛料(Spice and Wolf). I'll post more on this series in the coming posts... wait till I get my hands on the opening theme's single...
More inside joke...
In response to my friends comment of the last inside joke: "Maybe you should do a comparison to a famous footballer!"; here goes:

One technique might have been invented for thousands of years, used by various athletes through out the ages; but only the special one who make it famous deserves to have it label after him. Zidane has made the spin move and the head butt famous, now, our star player has make the C. Legs his own....
(man, does it ever gets old?)

| Time went by fast... It's already near the end of january and I still haven't worked on my new year's resolutions. I vowed to at least spend a little time to update this so-called blog once a week, so here come the first post of the year 2008.
I have not been watching a lot of anime lately. The only one I'm still sticking with is of course the cheesy animated bandai scale model commercial "Gundam 00". Wow, three new mecha which share 70% of parts(see ep. 15,16). Now that Sunrise has obviously declared that plot takes second in all new gundam series, why not introduce a new gundam in each episode? It's not like I want to learn more about the "gundam meisters" anyway. (except Lena(in her normal-suit), just maybe?)
Recently I've been obsessed with digital photography. Me love photography long time, and I once wanted to be a photo journalist in my youth. Now that the DSLRs (digital single lens reflex?) are getting cheaper and cheaper, I bought my first DSLR during the time this blog went to hiatus (around summer last year). Now I'm just a couple L lenses($1,000 lenses) short from officially entering my midlife crisis.
With the new camera, I went to Japan with my buddy and took over 6GB(about two thousand?) of pictures during the 4 day visit. You probably already read the post about the Tokyo Game Show one. I planed to finish the series this year as part of my resolution. Hopefully I'll stick with it, because the TGS certainly wasn't the best part of the trip.
カタ過多(おもしろ片仮名)Katakata Corner (Katakana fun)
Para-glider School = Pina colada Scoop?
most of you should know that I have a hard time reading Katakana (due to extreme inferior english literacy). I was searching for an image of ロールアウト(roll out) in google image search went I came across this site:
www5.big.or.jp/~ookubo/iwaya.htm
a web site promoting "sky sports" in the 岩屋山 (Mt. Iwaya).

now this photo has misled me to think that the school is some type of ice cream stand selling pina colada ice-cream scoop (lol, ice cream on my mind in 40 degrees weather?). Of course, an average person read further down that site and look at the para-gliding pictures below will figure out it is in fact a para-glider school; but as you all know I'm that 1 in a million idiot.
正解(correct answer): パラグライダースクール(as seen in the picture) = pa-ra-gu-ra-i-da--su-ku--ru = para-glider school
ピニャコラーダスクープ = pi-nya-ko-ra--da-su-ku--pu = pina colada scoop

Inside joke corner:
A technique named by the master footballer Tony K--k, now I must photoshop something to popularize the "super technique" of Gouki/豪鬼/Akuma. As if my MSN avatar wasn't enough, here's the full definition picture of the technique demonstrated by no other but the master Gouki himself.

| Gundam00 episode 05 限界離脱領域
I never thought I would enjoy a gundam series so much... It's still early in the series, so we'll see
 sign of Zeta (again)
hmm... the HUD of the MasterChief Gundam
some Sunrise employee: "No, really... it's "HARO ON" man, honest mistake, I swear!!! Look, they can see it clearly on their HDTV set, right? right???"

| Day 3 (Sun 9/23/07, Cloudy)Chiba Tokyo Game Show 2007
The world famous TGS is actually held in the Makuhari Messe located in Chiba prefecture's(千葉県) Chiba City(千葉市), ever since it moved from the Tokyo Big Sight years ago. This year's event is open to the public on Saturday 9/22 and Sunday 9/23. I wasn't planned to go there initially, since Ken wasn't a big otaku like I do. I have to convince him that the trip would certainly get us enough freebies as cheap souvenirs and it would certainly be a fun experience.
We were both tired from the walkathon yesterday, so instead of heading to Makuhari early, we relax at the capsule hotel till 9am (the check-out time is 10am, I think). I got up early to took some pictures and watch TV in my own capsule. So while Ken is sleeping soundly in his capsule, I get to watch what I thought to be the final episode of Gurenragan(天元突破グレンラガン Apparently, it wasn't. Ep 27 was the final one). We check out at a quarter to 10am. Before the half hour train ride to Makuhari, we load ourself up with food from the nearest convenience store(or コンビにkonbini, the first four Kata of コンビニエンスストア for the term convenience store). By now, konbini(s) has become our favorite place to get (relatively) cheap food and snacks for our stay here in Tokyo. We buy a few onigiri(s), some stuff buns and sandwiches and on our way to Makuhari. We took the 総武線(not sure, I should have done this sooner) to Makuhari station and then took the bus to Makuhari Messe. We finally got to the gate, you could estimate the male-female ratio of the participants... The entrance fee was only 1200 yen(roughly US$10). It didn't take long for us to get the ticket, I think most of the people got their tickets before they get here.
